The UK’s trade deficit rose by a substantial rate in November 2011, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The UK’s deficit on seasonally adjusted trade in goods and services reached £2.6 billion compared to the £1.9 billion reported in October, where the overall deficit on seasonally adjusted trade in goods was £8.6 billion in comparison with £7.9 billion in October.
The surplus on seasonally adjusted trade in services was estimated at £6.1 billion in November, compared with the surplus of £6.0 billion in October.
In export the seasonally adjusted volume was 1.7 per cent lower, and the volume of imports was 1.1 per cent higher in November compared with October with the export prices of goods falling by 0.4 per cent and import prices of goods falling by 0.2 per cent.
